Popular cult drama "The Path" has been cancelled after streaming site Hulu opted not to renew the show for a fourth season.
The finale of season three, which aired March 28, will now serve as the series finale.
Series creator Jessica Goldberg shared the news in a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter.
"While it's sad that The Path is ending, I'm brimming with gratitude and pride. It was a gift to be able to tell challenging and emotional stories for three seasons in this very strange and unique world.
"The caliber of talent and passion everyone who worked on this show brought from my partners Jason Katims and Michelle Lee, the execs at Hulu, the writers, actors, directors, designers and crew was something to behold, and for which I'm very thankful," Goldberg said.
The show, which was originally titled "The Way", featured Aaron Paul and Michelle Monaghan as a married couple deeply invested in a religious cult. They followed a complicated belief system that seemed like a combination of elements from many ancient religions and had some notable similarities to Scientology.
