Rishi Pal was apprehended yesterday while allegedly selling the girl in the redlight area in central Delhi, police said.

"Police spotted a girl crying and questioned her. The girl said she had left her village about a month back and come to Delhi in search of a job. She could not get the job in Delhi and someone told her that she may get one in Ghaziabad.

"Therefore, she went to Ghaziabad. At Ghaziabad Railway Station, she met Rishi Pal, who pretending to be her well wisher promised to provide a good job and took her to his house in Ghaziabad and kept her with him for a week. His wife and sister were also present in the house," police said.

Yesterday, he allegedly brought her to GB Road in Kamla Market to sell her.

"She listened to the conversation between Rishi Pal and other person whom Rishi Pal was telling that as per his promise, he has brought the girl and was demanding Rs 50,000. On listening the same, the girl assumed that she was in wrong hands and started crying," police said.

Constables searched for him and he was arrested.

During questioning, police claimed, Rishi Pal told them that he used to work as a pimp in 2005.
