Humid day in Delhi, maximum temperature 38.7 degrees Celsius

It was mild hot but humid day in the national capital which received overnight rains bringing the mercury down below the 40 degree mark providing relief to Delhiites.
The Safdarjung observatory, whose reading is considered as the official figure for the city, recorded the maximum temperature of 38.7 degrees Celsius, a notch below the normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 25.4 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year, three notches below the season's average, a Met department official said.
The Safdarjung observatory received 1.6 mm rainfall till 8.30 am while areas under Palam, Ridge, Lodhi Road and Ayaganar received 3.2 mm, 5.6mm, 1.7mm and 5.6mm rainfall in the same period.
Between 8.30 AM and 5.30 PM traces of rainfall was recorded at Ridge observatory.
Humidity level oscillated between 92 and 36 per cent.
MeT office has predicted overcast conditions along with the possibility of rain and thunderstorm for tomorrow.

"The skies will be partly cloudy. There is a likelihood of rain and thunder storm tomorrow afternoon and evening.
"The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 39 and 27 degrees Celsius respectively," the weatherman said.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 41.9 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled at 28.4 degrees Celsius.
