Union Territory Chandigarh recorded mercury at 35.2 degrees Celsius and received an overnight rain of 24.5 mm, MeT department report said today.
Among other places in Punjab, Ludhiana settled at 34.8 degrees C with 6.4 mm of rainfall while Amritsar and Patiala recorded their maximum at 33.2 degrees C and 35.2 degrees C.
In Haryana, Ambala and Karnal had their maximum of 35.5 degrees C and 34.4 degrees C respectively.
MeT department predicted light to moderate rainfall at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana in the next 24 hours.
