"The whole Kanyari village in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district, comprising about 150 families, was shifted to degree college Sumbal," a police spokesman said.
He said 13 Rashtriya rifles also participated in the rescue operation and provided vehicles for shifting of the people from the flood-hit village.
Police in collaboration with civil administration rescued 400 people caught in flood waters in Shopian district of the state.
"About 400 people have been rescued from villages Rakh Litter, Wachi and Zainapora along with their cattle and have been shifted to safer places," the spokesman said.
