The hardline Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani today criticised Centre's action asking the UN Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) to vacate the government bungalow in Delhi.
In a statement issued today, the Hurriyat spokesman called the decision "ridiculous" and demanded its withdrawal.
UNMOGIP was provided with a bungalow on the Purana Qila Road in New Delhi free of charge, nearly four decades ago.
The External Affairs Ministry had yesterday said the government had asked the UNMOGIP to vacate the premises, saying the mission has long "outlived its relevance".
