Laldina told said Lalrinchhana (45) and his wife Lalzuimawii (42) were working in their farm without going home and slept in the jhum hut since Monday.
Their bodies bearing injuries suspected to be inflicted with sharp weapons, specially on the throats, were found this morning by people having jhum nearby, he said.
Forensic experts were sent from Aizawl with their equipment and autopsy was likely to be performed tomorrow, he added.
