The woman had died on July 10 after drowning in a water barrel kept in the bathroom which was bolted from the inside, police said today.
Though, initially the case appeared to be a suicide, the victim's parents had alleged that her husband Inderjeet Singh had killed her as he was having an affair with some other woman, they said.
They had also alleged that her father-in-law, Gokul Prasad, had demanded Rs 10 lakh to start a garment business in his son's name and since the demand could not be fulfilled, the victim was humiliated by her husband and father-in-law.
He also admitted to having an illicit relationship with a friend of his wife, due to which she had distanced herself from him.

He had told the police that on July 10, after leaving his home at Sector 24 in Rohini for work, he had returned at 2pm saying he wanted to spend time with his wife.
When she had gone for her bath, he had cajoled her into having the same in the water barrel saying it would be fun and when she had entered it, he held her head under the water till she became lifeless, police said.
When Inderjeet's sister arrived from college, she had asked where her sister-in-law was. Thereafter, the victim's sister-in-law and mother-in-law found the bathroom bolted from inside and broke open the door, and discovered that the woman had drowned in the water barrel.
Police arrested Inderjeet and his father, Gokul Prasad in connection with the death of the woman.
