Husband of municipal ward member allegedly slashes his chest

Husband of a municipal ward member allegedly slashed his chest with a shaving blade during a heated argument between him and electricity department officials in Nainwa town of the district, police said today.
Sazeed Khan, in his early thirties, allegedly injured himself yesterday afternoon when officials of Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) vigilance team went to his house to examine the electric meter and found it tampered, SHO Ramanand Yadav said.
Khan is the husband of a member of ward number 14 in Nainwa municipality, he said.
Yadav said instead of paying the penalty according to Vigilance Checking Report (VCR), he started arguing and allegedly slashed his chest during a scuffle.

On a complaint by junior engineers of the department, a case of attempt to suicide and interference in government working was lodged against him yesterday evening.
Meanwhile, Khan, who is admitted in a government hospital in Kota, registered a case of beating and attempt to murder against the four engineers of JVVNL, the SHO said, adding investigation is underway.
