The husband, Biren Baishya, had an altercation with his wife Manjurani Deka alias Bobi in her tailoring shop on Baruah Road, official sources said.
He followed her on the road after Manjurani ran out for help and stabbed her to death with a pair of scissors, the sources said.
Biren Baishya was immediately arrested after the incident, the sources said.
The couple have two minor girls studying in class four and six, they added.
