The curfew in Sikh Chavni and Arsh Mahal areas will be lifted during daytime but will remain in force during night hours, a police officer said.
The curfew was clamped on May 14 under section 144 of CrPC in Rajendranagar police station limits in the wake of communal clashes and death of three persons in police firing in Kishanbagh. The clashes were sparked by alleged burning of a religious flag by some persons.
With the troubled-areas remaining peaceful and no untoward incident being reported, a decision was taken today to relax the curfew during daytime tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Cyberabad Police Commissioner C V Anand today met elders of both the communities.
Seventeen people, including policemen, were injured after some members of two communities pelted on each other, damaged houses and vehicles and resorted to arson in some parts of the two areas on last Wednesday.
Ten cases were booked under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code and Arms Act and 23 persons were so far arrested in connection with the clashes and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed to probe the incident and the role of the accused.
