While two out of three attackers have been detained, attempts are on to trace another woman who was also allegedly involved in the incident, Nampally GRP Inspector Lingeshwar Rao told PTI.
The incident occurred when the TTE, Kausalya detected a group of ticket-less passengers while checking tickets on Falaknuma-Lingampalli Multi-Modal Transit System service (local train), and asked them to pay the fine.
However, the passengers including the trio argued with her. The trio later manhandled Kausalya when the train was nearing Begumpet railway station, Rao said.
Kausalya, who is under the Secunderabad division, was admitted to a hospital with minor injuries.
Meanwhile, strongly condemning the incident, South Central Railway (SCR) said stringent action would be taken against the offenders after necessary investigations.
"The incident wherein a lady ticket checking staff performing her duty has been obstructed and assaulted by unauthorised passengers travelling in an MMTS train is strongly condemnable," the SCR said in a statement.
