During a 'Janata Milan' programme at his official residence, Bahuguna said the government would complete the hydel projects which have already been cleared by the centre, union ministry of environment and forests and other technical agencies.
Expressing concern over the poaching and other smuggling activities in the forests, the Chief Minister asked the concerned officials to enhance electronic vigilance and increase the number of barriers at sensitive points in the state as a preventive measure.
Bahuguna also sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 20,000 to 25,000 from his discretionary fund to various meritorious but needy students to pursue their higher education.
Listening to the grievances of the public at the 'Janata Milan', the chief minister directed the concerned officials to redress them at the earliest and asked them to computerise the grievances and monitor the follow up action till they were mitigated.
