University of Hyderabad (UoH) and the UK-based University of Bradford (UoB) today signed an MoU to collaborate on polymer based materials for therapeutics for diseases like cancer and tuberculosis.
The research effort relies on novel nanotechnology based approaches to solving problems of current interest and the results are expected to have great societal impact due to the nature of diseases involved, according to a release from UoH.
The MoU exemplifies the multi-disciplinary and international nature of research collaboration which brings together the School of Engineering Sciences and Technology and School of Life Sciences on the UoH side and the School of Chemistry in the UoB, it said.
The MoU was part of the visit of UoB's Vice Chancellor Professor Brian Cantor to the UoH.
He also delivered a lecture titled 'Multi-component and High Entropy Alloys' in the University.
"The MoU, which was signed by Cantor and P Sardar Singh, Registrar of UoH, is a beginning which will lead to a long-term relationship between the two varsities to include several other areas of research," it added.
