A 10-year-old boy, diagnosed with blood cancer, today became Hyderabad's police commissioner for a day.
Sadiq, who was diagnosed with blood cancer five months ago and is undergoing treatment at present, wanted to become the top cop, even if it is only for a day.
NGO 'Make A Wish Foundation' and Hyderabad police came together to make the dream of Sadiq come true for a day.
Sadiq, a resident of Karimnagar district, came to police commissioner M Mahender Reddy's office today and sat on his chair for some time.
"I want to maintain peace and catch the rowdies," Sadiq said clad in a khaki uniform and cap.
"Having seen many of his relatives working in the police department, he aspired to become a police officer. He wanted to be a police commissioner at least for a day," said police commissioner M Mahender Reddy.
"'Make A Wish Foundation' approached us to fulfil his desire.... We agreed," he said.
The city police force wished him a speedy recovery, Reddy added.
