Hyderabad City Police today launched 'Citizen Satisfaction Feedback Services', under which it will collect feedback directly from the citizens over phone.
Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy, while launching the facility, said that the main objective was to assess overall citizen satisfaction with the police force and "to identify citizen's perceptions of key areas of weaknesses and strengths".
To run the feedback service, professionals with expertise in call-centre services would be hired and they will be stationed at the police headquarters.
They will contact about 20 per cent of the citizens (picked randomly) who have had any dealings with the police to collect the feedback.
The "citizen satisfaction ratings" will be the basis for the performance appraisal of the officers among other criteria, Reddy said.
"The identity of the citizens who have shared their feedback will be strictly kept confidential and will not be shared with the field level officers," he added.
