: Hyundai Motor India, the subsidiary of Korean auto maker Hyundai, has stepped up security at its parking yard here in the wake of recent theft of seven luxury Sports Utility Vehicles, which were later recovered.
"Further to the recovery of seven stolen cars, HMIL has strengthened its security systems at the newly acquired Manapakkam yard. The yard is fully equipped with five security cameras, increased round the clock security personnel, modern control and a crisis management system", a company spokesperson said in a statement.
The yard has been levelled, spruced up and clearly demarcated for different models, he said, adding a team trained on crisis management has been set up.
Seven brand new SUVs were stolen early June, from the parking yard by a gang after attacking a security guard, but five of the vehicles were traced within hours and two later.
Seven men barged into a parking facility and picked up a quarrel with the security guard. After attacking him, the men drove away the SUVs in quick succession.
