Cody, 37, who gained success as screenwriter of "Juno", "Young Adult" and "United States of Tara", made her directorial debut in 2013 with "Paradise" starring Russell Brand and Octavia Spencer, said The Hollywood Reporter.
"I am retired from directing. I don't think I possess the leadership qualities required to be a director," she said.
The Academy Award-winning scribe most recently wrote the script for Meryl Streep starrer "Ricki and the Flash" and is working on Sony's live-action comedy "Barbie" wants to stick to her creative job.
