Interacting with reporters before the performance of his rock band Fossils, Rupam said "I have a solo number in Srijit's next movie.

"Can't tell about the lyrics but it is something on the lines of 'Phiriye Dao'(please give back). Happy to work with Srijit in all his three works (Autograph, Baishe Srabon and Hemlock Society)," the leading Bengali rock singer said before taking over the stage at 'Tuborg Strong Fungama Nights' at Nazrul Manch last evening.

"Not only Srijit I am okay with other directors as well," he said to a question. Rupam is currently working in few other films.

Asked if he was okay with people's request for the popular numbers like 'Benche Thakar Gaan', Ei Srabon or Hasnuhana, Rupam said "what is wrong with that? I am happy to croon the numbers that people want to hear, that means the song's popular appeal, as well as the new ones. And I never refuse."

He said Fossils, "which has pioneered the journey of rock music since 1998", will bring out a new album this year.

"If you consider the audience of Nazrul Manch that had remained as large and commited as it used to be in recent times, but if you take the audience of rock music in the city and elsewhere, yes that has witnessed a spurt and I must say Fossils has been instrumental in changing the way you and I look at our surroundings since it came up."

Rupam later enthralled thousands of fans as they danced to the beats of popular chartbusters flavoured by a blend of blues, alternative rock and psychedelia, along with Rupam's vocal renditions of his characteristic psycho-analytical lyrics.

The Nights had brought popular artists like Hard Kaur, Mohit Chauhan, Jassi and Shibani Kashyap in the past.
