Kaul Singh Thakur today said there was no truth in reports about appointment of a working president of the party's state unit.
"I am working as a regular president," he asserted.
The proposal of appointing a working president was never thought of at any point of time, Thakur said.
Asked about reports of his resignation, he said there was no question of his quitting as HPCC chief when there was no move to appoint a working president.
The party was united and fully geared to defeat the BJP in the upcoming assembly election. Thakur said.
The Congress would stage a protest on the opening day of the monsoon session of the state assembly on August 27 against "malgovernance" of the BJP government, the HPCC chief said.
The charge-sheet prepared by the Congress against the BJP government was ready, he said adding it would be submitted to the President on August 22.
