I&B Ministry officials meet broadcasters for Yoga Day coverage

To ensure that government programmes to mark 'International Day of Yoga' on June 21 get wide media coverage, senior officials of the I&B ministry today held discussions with leading broadcasters.
Sources said senior officials of the I&B ministry met representatives of organisations such as Indian Broadcasting Foundation and News Broadcasters Association and sought their cooperation in spreading awareness about the events.
Many of the broadcasters were quite enthusiastic about the possibilities related to the coverage, they added.
Representatives of the Ayush Ministry, which has been given the responsibility to make all arrangement for celebration of the International Day of Yoga, were also present during the meeting.
A detailed action plan has been drawn up for the events to mark the day which includes a mass yoga demonstration programme at Rajpath led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Following a request by India, the UN had declared June 21 as International Yoga Day last year.
