Dubbing Phoring as a wonderful adolescent tale, not often described in this way in Bengali cinema, 'Shabdo' man Ritwik Chakraborty says everyone will be able to relate to the movie.
"Me, you and everybody will be able to connect and relate to that phase Phorin, the child protagonist, goes through. Because we had all experienced that period when confusion, embrrasment and curiosity reigned along with sense of wonder," the recently released and acclaimed actor of independent genre flick 'Bakita Byaktigato' told PTI here.
"Phoring is so refreshingly different as you will re-live those days and the story telling so unpretentious and real in settings, look, feel and characterizations," Ritwik, who mostly remains disappointed with his own portrayal of roles despite praises by the audience, said.
Asked about his character in Phoring, the Cross Connection actor said, "I can't say much except it is close to the lady teacher Doyel who comes in Phoring's life and spots his sparks. Phoring is not sure about my real identity but I would leave it there."
About shooting experience with Phoing aka Akash Adhikary and his screen friend more worldwise Lattu, aka Sourav, Ritwik, who had recently turnhed into a father, said.
"Shooting with children becomes always pleasant experience. While Akash was a bit quiet, Sourav made us crazy with his antics."
Produced by Saugata Bal (Das) and Anasua Roy Chowdhury Phoring, footage of which getting likes on you.Tube, will be released on September 26.
Asked about his future projects - Shabdo director Kaushik Ganguly's Apur Panchali and national award winner Ami Adu maker Somnath Gupta's next flick on a rural folk's journey from village to Kolkata on Puja days, Ritwik says "The second one aso talks about a journey. But different from the metaphorical trip to the fantasy land in Bakita Bykatigato and I am happy audiences are praising such films these days. That is the biggest award," he said.
