The 42-year-old actor, who made his Bollywood debut with Deepa Mehta's 'Earth', has starred in films like 'Bollywood/Hollywood', 'Dil Kabaddi' and 'Elaan' among others. He was last seen in a cameo role in Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Wake Up Sid' in 2009.
"Doing a movie is like a short-term marriage and, like being married to someone you are deeply in love with, as an actor, there is an incomparable joy that comes from working on a project you truly connect with.
Further explaining the reason of his long hiatus, the actor said, "I guess that's just the way it turned out. I had been slated to be a part of a couple of movie projects which, unfortunately, didn't end up working out."
The actor, who is making a comeback with upcoming indie drama film 'Fireflies' opposite Monica Dogra, is ecstatic about the movie.

The actor said that he was attracted to the project as this was his first indie film.
"It was something I'd never really done before- an independent film in the purest sense of the term. Director, Sabal Shekawat was clear that he wanted to make this movie on his own terms so he produced it himself, which takes immense courage," he said.
