I G International to invest Rs 150 cr in cold chain logistics

Leading marketer and distributor of high quality fruits I G International today said it plans to invest Rs 150 crore in cold chain logistics.
I G International, which has set up IG Supply Chain Pvt Ltd (IGSC) to consolidate its third party cold chain logistics business, will shortly commission its eighth cold store in Jaipur.
The facility incorporates modern technology and is conveniently located in the outskirts of the city. It has a capacity of 1600 MT of CA (control atmosphere) cold store and is equipped with 8 banana ripening chambers with a total capacity of 125 MT, a company statement said here.
IGIPL had set up its first cold store in 1999 to cater to their import business. Since then, its subsidiary IGSC has set up cold stores in Mumbai, Amravati, Chandigarh and Chennai.
IGSC is aggressively expanding its cold chain logistics business and is investing around Rs 150 crore in mega cold store facilities under construction in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore with a total capacity of 15,000 MT, which will take the company's total capacity to over 40,000 MT, it said.
The subsidiary also plans to further expand its third party logistics business by adding another 50 refrigerated trucks to its existing fleet of 50 trucks.
