I-League to return to Cooperage after three seasons
Press Trust of India Mumbai I-League football is to return to the Cooperage ground here after three seasons with the All India Football Federation (AIFF) today slotting the game between Maharashtra rivals Pune FC and Mumbai FC as the first clash of the upcoming season at this venue on April 12, 2014.
The ground, which has got a makeover with the natural turf being replaced by an artificial one, has not hosted an I-League game since the end of the 2009-10 season.
However, no I-League game in the first phase of the tournament, scheduled from September 21 to December 27, is to be played at the Cooperage.
In all, six matches - including the 26th and last round tie between Mumbai FC and Mohammedan Sporting - are to be played at the South Mumbai venue, as per the I-League schedule released today.
