Ben Stiller has said it has been three years that he is free of cancer and the actor is glad that he got an opportunity to spread awareness about the disease.
The 51-year-old actor was diagnosed with prostate cancer in June 2014.
"I'm three years now cancer-free and I'm really happy that getting the word out there about the PSA test has actually made a little bit of a difference," Stiller said on the "Today" show.
According to Us Weekly, the "Zoolander" star had no symptoms or family history specific to the disease.
It was detected after he took the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test, which shows early warning signs of prostate cancer in men.
He had been taking the test annually since he was 46.
Last year, Stiller had talked about his decision to have his prostate removed, saying "I'm doing great. I was really fortunate that my course of treatment was basically an operation and that was it.
