"We will have some 30 officials in the city and around 100 officers in the districts to monitor unaccounted money movement for the general elections," I-T DG (Investigations) Gopal Mukherjee said here today.
So far there has been no instruction on monetary limit from the Election Commission, he said.
I-T Chief Commissioner G N Pande said a control room will be opened and may become operational by March 19.
After the announcement of poll dates, the investigation section of I-T department comes under EC and assists the election regulator to ensure free and fair elections.
