Singer Avril Lavigne, who was bedridden five months for a severe case of Lyme disease, said she is thankful for the experience.
Lavigne, 30, opened up about the devastating disease that kept her bedridden for months and how she's fighting to recover, reported People magazine.
"Sometimes it takes instances like this to put things in perspective. So in a way, I am grateful for all of this," she said.
For the singer, who has worked nonstop since she was 17 when her debut album Let Go went platinum, being forced to step away from work was a blessing and changed her priorities.
"I've never had this much time off in my life. And I've never been more clear about what I want in life - health, family, love, happiness.
