The 60-year-old actor, who appeared as James Bond in 'GoldenEye', 'Tomorrow Never Dies', 'The World Is Not Enough' and 'Die Another Day', said he struggled to portray the super-suave spy like the previous Bond actors Sean Connery and Roger Moore, Daily Telegraph.
"I felt I was caught in a time warp between Roger and Sean. It was a very hard one to grasp the meaning of, for me. But then that might have had to do with my own insecurities in playing him as well," Brosnan said.
Brosnan, who was replaced by Daniel Craig as the spy, said he is happy to be slowly losing the stereotype of Bond through his recent work.
"There's enough time between me being James Bond and now. Daniel is James Bond; I was James Bond," he said.
