"I was sceptical the way things were going because there was bounce and turn on offer. Zak (Zaheer Khan) came in and he told me to keep playing and he will try to stay along till the end. At that point I was just thinking keep going. If it is meant to be, it will be," a satisfied Nayar said as he completed an unbeaten 107.
"I am happy with the way things went. First game and I obviously wanted to get the momentum going. The conditions were conducive to spin and I am quite happy with my innings," he added.
He further said a result was quite possible and added that the team plans to get early breakthroughs tomorrow.
"Yes, a result is possible. It's not a flat deck. The way things are going, we are on top as of now. Tomorrow, get a few upfront and push them to do something different," he said.
On his recent brush with injuries, he said, "It's been unfortunate that I have had a couple of injuries at the wrong time. But, I keep trying to come back harder. Last year, I was doing very well and fractured my thumb while fielding. These kind of freak injuries keep happening."
