"I am contesting in the 2013 elections," Sangma told reporters after he was produced in the CJM court.
"As of now I will not disclose from which constituency I am going to contest," he said.
Sangma, a former deputy superintendent of police, was produced in court after the 14 days judicial remand ended.
He was directed by the court to appear on September 25 in view of the shortage of staff as a result of the Bharat bandh call.
The militant chief was arrested on July 30 from the Indo-Bangladesh border hours after he was pushed back by the Bangladesh authorities.
