The ace doubles star, who has been recommended a life ban by the BAI disciplinary committee, got a reprieve today when the Delhi High Court accepted her plea and allowed Jwala to participate in upcoming tournaments till the three-member committee takes a final decision on the issue of her alleged indiscipline.
However, Jwala, who had won the bronze medal in 2011 World Championship in London and the 2010 Commonwealth Games gold along with partner Ashwini Ponnappa, won't be able to participate in the Denmark Open as the BAI had withdrawn her entry for the event yesterday.
Earlier in the day, Justice V K Jain allowed Gutta to to continue playing and said, "I am of the view that you (BAI) must allow her to play in the tournament".
The court observed that till the final view is taken by the committee, she should be allowed to take part in the tournament.
The two upcoming badminton tournaments in which Jwala was to participate are Denmark Open scheduled from October 15 to 20 and French Open from October 22 to 27.
