China's Digital Control System (DCS) FirmSys, used in nuclear power plants, has passed a review by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the country's state-owned assets watchdog said today.
This will help China's manufacturing industry expand its influence and boost its global presence, the state-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council said.
DCS, which can control the operation of over 260 systems and nearly 10,000 piecesof equipment, is vital to nuclear power plants, ensuring safety, reliability and stability.
Following the US, France and Japan, China is the fourth country with its own DCS, state-run Xinhua news agency said.
DCS FirmSys, cheaper than its foreign counterparts, has been widely used in China's nuclear power plants, and is expected to be used in aviation and shipbuilding in the future.
