IAF deputes two choppers to Thiruvanathapuram

With heavy rains lashing parts of Kerala, the Indian Air Force today deputed two helicopters from its Coimbatore base in Tamil Nadu which have been positioned in Thiruvananthapuram for "any contingency."
This morning two ALH helicopters from Sulur air base (at Coimbatore) had been positioned at Thiruvanathapuram for any contingency, a Defence release here said.
This was in addition to the force already dispatching four AN-32 aircraft which carried over 120 personnel of Disaster Relief Force from Arakkonam to Kochi and eight tons of rescue material, it said.
