ICAI commissions cost-benefit analysis of demonetisation

The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) has commissioned a cost-benefit analysis of the demonetisation drive taken by the Union government, ICAI President Manas Kumar Thakur said here today.
He said a group comprising 7-8 experts is studying the impact of demonetisation on the economy.
According to him, the study will estimate the cost incurred by various sectors of the economy due to this demonetisation move and will also examine the benefits that the sectors are getting out of such a drive.
Thakur said only around two per cent in a community used to get the benefits from parallel economy which causes higher money circulation and pushes up inflation.
