The apex body of chartered accountants ICAI has entered into an agreement with Ministry of Human Resource Development for launching a television channel.
In this regard, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been inked between the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and the Ministry today.
The pact is for sharing the Ministry's DTH platform.
ICAI intends to use the upcoming DTH platform for the benefit of over eight lakh students pursuing chartered accountancy course.
"The content that shall be beamed through ICAI channel can be of tremendous help not only to CA students but to commerce students as well. With this facility we can reach out to the remotest corners of the country," ICAI President K Raghu said in a statement today.
In 2009, the government had launched the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT).
