ICAI plans television channel

To reach out to more students across the country, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) plans to launch a television channel.
Besides, the apex body for chartered accountants is already working on various initiatives including a global technology centre and cloud campus that would provide next generation interactive learning management system for students.
Efforts are being made to have a separate educational television channel through Doordarshan for imparting education to students.
"We also propose to build state-of-the-art studios at different locations of the institute for streaming regular e-lectures," the institute said.
ICAI's new President K Raghu today said the number of students pursuing CA programme is on the rise.
Currently, ICAI has about 10 lakh students.

Raghu also said the institute is extending technical co-operation to countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh for institutionalisation of accountancy profession.
"Talks regarding opening up of chapters in cities like Vancouver (Canada), Dar-E-Salam (Tanzania) is also in process," the institute said.
Recently, the institute established its Chapter in Uganda.
