Idea partners Opera, Quikr to offer Internet pass to users

Idea Cellular today said it has partnered mobile classifieds firm Quikr and Opera Software to offer mobile data through "sponsored web passes" to over 137 million customers of the telecom operator in the country.
The tri-partnership is aimed at enabling more Indians to get online and experience the power of the internet on their mobile phones, the first such initiative in South Asia, a statement said.
Such a pass offers one-time access to the Internet and is aimed at those who do not want to invest in monthly data plans. The "Sponsored Web Pass" will offer Idea subscribers free 10 MB usage for a day.

Intex unveils KitKat-powered Aqua Curve Mini for Rs 7,290 * Intex Technologies today launched Aqua Curve Mini, powered by the latest Android KitKat operating system, priced at Rs 7,290.
The smartphone is targetted at students and young professionals, mainly in tier II and III cities in India, Intex said in a statement.

LINE launches 'Selfie Sticker' app
* Japanese messaging app LINE Corporation today released a new 'Selfie Sticker' app for iPhones and Android phones.
Using the app, users can make original stickers out of self-portraits or 'selfies' on their phones.
Apart from LINE messaging app, the selfie stickers can also be shared on social networking services like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Globally, it has 470 million users.
In India, LINE claims to have over 18 million registered users and aims to grow it to 50 million by December this year.

Snapdeal partners Madura Garments' Trendin.Com * Homegrown marketplace Snapdeal has entered into an exclusive partnership with Trendin.Com, the e-commerce arm of Madura Garments.
Trendin.Com will be now powering Snapdeal.Com with fashion brands like Van Heusen, Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Peter England and People, a statement said.
"This partnership will enable Snapdeal.Com to capture a much larger consumer mind space as a fastest growing fashion marketplace. Today around 60 per cent of our sales are from the fashion and lifestyle category," Snapdeal VP Fashion Vertical Amit Maheshwari said.
