IED found near showroom of automobile company

An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by unidentified miscreants was today recovered from near the showroom of an automobile company at Nagaram area in Imphal West district, police said.
The IED was found by local people at around 10 am. They immediately informed the police following which the bomb disposal squad was called in.
Police said the IED was later successfully detonated at a safe place.
In another unrelated incident, an abandoned suitcase was found today at Moirangkhom locality in Imphal West district, a senior police officer said.
Police have cordoned the area and the bomb disposal squad have rushed to the spot to inspect the suitcase.
