Hoping that the situation in Darjeeling hills would normalise and a solution could be found through dialogue, West Bengal Governor M K Narayanan today said that if Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) supremo Bimal Gurung wanted to talk to him then he was ready for it.
"I hope that peace will return and a solution can be reached through dialogue and talk," Narayanan said on the sidelines of a program here.
Asked if he would talk to Gurung, Narayanan replied, "If Gurung wants to talk to me then I will surely talk."
Narayanan's statement came a day after he ruled out the possibility of his mediation in the Darjeeling hills, which saw return of normalcy today with a four day relaxation in the indefinite bandh called by the GJM since August three.
Narayanan had yesterday said that he could not mediate in Darjeeling as he was the Governor of the state.
