A formal police complaint was filed with local police station, who tried their best to recover the laptop without much success.

The laptop apparently disappeared on Wednesday night from the campus where only those with the valid passes are allowed to enter. Mohan was said to be in a shock to find his laptop missing when he joined the office yesterday.

The needle of suspicion was on a security guard, who also went missing with the laptop.

Mohan, when contacted, tried to downplay the incident by stating "one of the team members had taken the laptop." But the police complaint was not withdrawn till today.

On the same night, a photographer who had arrived to participate in the IFFI, had his camera stolen from the room of a five star hotel. The burglar entered his room from the window and ran away, while the photographer was attending an after event party.

Eyebrows were also raised over allowing liquor inside the festival venue. A senior official from the liquor manufacturing firm, who are partial sponsors of the 11-day long festival, has been told to ensure that bottles are not thrown around.
