A senior officer today stressed on the need for Jammu and Kashmir Police to maintain utmost alert ahead of the Independence Day.
Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu, S D Singh Jamwal visited Kishtwar district and reviewed the security arrangements made for the ongoing annual 'Machail Yatra' and to assess the overall law and order scenario ahead of the Independence Day, a police spokesman said.
Singh accompanied by SSP Kishtwar Abrar Choudhary and other officers visited Machail Temple, Gulabgarh, and reviewed arrangements for the ongoing pilgrimage, he said.
Thereafter, a meeting was held at Kishtwar to review the security and law and order situation of district Kishtwar in which Army, Central Para military force, Intelligence agencies' officials participated.
IGP, Jammu, advised the officials to maintain utmost alertness in the wake of forthcoming Independence Day and work in close coordination and synergy to foil the nefarious design of anti-national and anti-social elements, the spokesman said.
