The agreement will enable IGNOU access IGNCA library and archival resources and vice-versa.
"The aim is to offer credit/non credit courses to students in various fields such as Sanskrit, vedic studies, translation studies, manuscriptology, oral traditions, folklore, traditional knowledge system, performing arts and storytelling traditions," IGNOU VC Ravindra Kumar said in a release.
Both the institutions are trying to contribute to the promotion of Indian culture and traditional arts among the youth, the release said.
