IGP briefs probationary IPS officers on J-K police functioning

A group of 34 probationary IPS officers today met Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu range Danesh Rana, who briefed them about the challenges faced by police in view of militancy and border management in Jammu and Kashmir.
Interacting with the probationary IPS officers of 2014 batch, Rana spoke about challenges faced by police and securityforces in view of militancy, crime and in the law and order front inthe state, a police spokesperson said.
The IGP also briefed them about collectionof intelligence inputs on militancy and sharing the sametimely with all concerned agencies to achievethe desired results, he said.
On border management, Rana appraised them about issues emerging due to ceasefire violation on the International Border (IB) and the Line of Control (LoC) and the problems faced by police and civil administration in dealing with the situation, the spokesperson said.
He briefed them about steps required tobe taken in the wake of migration of people due toheavy shelling from across the border, he said.
The probationary IPS officers were also apprised about the measuresbeing taken to strengthen the anti-infiltration grid on the IB andLoC in the border districts of Jammu province.
