IHGF 2015: Min gives Ajay Shankar Memorial awards

Handicraft and textile firms from various cities across the country were today awarded by Union Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar in six product categories at the ongoing Indian Handicrafts and Gifts Fair (Spring) 2015.
The Union Minister of State for Textiles (IC) gave away the Ajay Shankar Memorial Awards for the best display of stands at the 39th edition of the four-day IHGF here that ends tomorrow.
In Houseware Decorative and Gifts, the Gold Award was won by Atul Agarwal of Kish Handicrafts of Noida.
In Home Textiles, Furnishings and Floor Coverings, Gold Award was won by Shri Ashish Sharma of M/s Sharda Exports, Noida.
In Fashion Jewellery Accessories and Bags Gold Award was won by J K Daniel of The East India Natural Goods Company of Kolkata.
The Ajay Shankar Memorial Awards were instituted in the memory of late Shri Ajay Shankar, former Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) who was one of the major motivators for establishing this fair.
IHGF is amongst Asia's largest gifts & handicrafts fair, held biannually (Spring & Autumn edition) and is organised by Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH).
