IIIT Delhi, IBM & Federal Bank announce online hackathon

Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Delhi in collaboration with IBM and Federal Bank today announced an online hackathon, which offers students an opportunity to learn new cognitive computing skills.
The hackathon is a part of Research Showcase 2017 which is an annual event exhibiting the research and development work from educational institutions in the Delhi NCR region.
The theme of the IBM Challenge is online customer engagement and students will be tested to create a solution that will help banks provide their customers with a superior banking experience.

More than half willing to take wedding loan: Tata Cap Survey * Tata Capital, the financial services arm of the Tata Group, has said over 58 per cent individual willing to consider taking a loan to either part or their entire wedding expenses.
According to survey, lack of awareness of wedding loans as a product also came out as an issue, as for those that had not taken a wedding loan, 44 per cent of respondent stated it was because they were not aware of the existence of such a loan.

"Over two-thirds of respondents prefer a simple or intimate wedding. The average spend for 74 per cent of the respondents is less than 10 lakhs," it said.
An online survey conducted with close to 2500 respondents across India including both married, unmarried and to-be-married individuals.

Genpact acquires Rage Frameworks to strengthen AI capabilities * BPM major Genpact today said it will acquire Rage Frameworks, a knowledge-based automation technology and services providing artificial intelligence (AI) for enterprises.
Terms of the deal are not disclosed.
Genpact is investing in leading technologies like AI as part of its strategy to drive digital-led innovation and digital-enabled intelligent operations for its clients, Genpact said in a statement.
Genpact will embed Rage's AI in business operations and apply it to complex enterprise issues to allow clients to generate insights and drive decisions and action, at a scale and speed that humans alone could not achieve, it added.
