The report, published by webportal - www.TopMBA.Com - highlights four distinct categories of business school in terms of employer recognition: Elite Global, Emerging Global, Elite Regional, Emerging Regional.
It said that B school graduates from India are the world's most academically distinguished.
Students at Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (780) and Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (767) have the highest average GMAT scores in the world, well ahead of the leading US institution Stanford (730), and INSEAD in Europe (704), the report said.
The report is based on 4,318 responses from recruiters, making it the largest survey of its kind.
Of the 39 leading institutions to make the Elite Global category, 15 are from the US, Canada (7), UK (3), Spain (3), France and Singapore 2 each, and one each from India, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Ireland and Denmark.
Apart from IIM Ahmedabad, two Asian B Schools which have made in to the Elite Global category are INSEAD Singapore and NUS Business School, National University of Singapore.
