IIM-B, French B school agree to launch aviation mgmt course

IIM-Bangalore and Toulouse Business School today signed an agreement to set up an executive general management programme in aerospace and aviation management with the course to be sponsored by Airbus.
The programme is being described as the first of its kind in the country and Airbus is sponsoring the two-year part-time degree course with a view to developing and nurturing local talent in the field of aerospace.
Each year, up to 75 students will be enrolled in the programme, which will be conducted by Toulouse Business School, according to a statement here.
Airbus is headquartered in Toulouse.
"India is one of the fastest developing countries in the aviation market and is also one of the richest talent pools for the next generation of business leaders... We want the best to enter the exciting world of aviation," said Airbus India CEO, Dwarkanath Srinivasan.
"With more passengers flying each year in India, there is an increasing need for expertise in the aviation business," he added.
The partnership has been established to address the need for developing the next generation of Indian aviation professionals, Dean of Toulouse Business School, Jacques Igalens, meanwhile, said.
Director in-charge of IIM-Bangalore, Devanath Tirupati, said that students would also have the option of earning an Aerospace MBA degree from Toulouse Business School.
