Akshay Jadhao, who worked through multiple organisations across the World, bagged the award given by The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust, Comic Relief and The Royal Commonwealth Society, an IIM-K press release said here today.
Grown up in the rural farming region of Vidarbha, where transport, basic education and access to the internet were not readily available and unemployment amongst the young was rife, Jadhao launched education and skills courses in a bid to improve the job opportunities and future prospects of hundreds of young people, IIM-K Director Prof Kulbhushan Balooni said.
Winners will receive a unique package of training, mentoring and networking, including a one-week residential programme in the UK during which they will collect their Award from the Queen, he added.
