IISL to list Nifty 50 Futures on Taiwan Futures Exchange

India Index Services & Products Ltd (IISL), an arm of NSE, alongwith Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX) today said it plans to introduce Nifty 50 futures for investors in Taiwan in the fourth quarter of 2016.
The Nifty 50 futures index reflects futures price movements in the benchmark equity index Nifty 50 which comprises of securities listed on NSE.
Nifty 50 is the one of the most widely used index to track the performance of Indian stock market.
"The Nifty 50 futures denominated in New Taiwan Dollar (TWD) is scheduled to be launched on TAIFEX in the fourth quarter (October-December) of 2016, which marks a key milestone for both the exchanges," IISL, which owns and manages the Nifty 50 index, said in a statement.
The move would help TAIFEX, which has entered into a licensing agreement with IISL, expand its product line as well as increase its international exposure.
"With NSE group company to launch Nifty 50 futures for Taiwanese investors to participate in the blooming India market without bearing exchange risk," TAIFEX chairman Len-Yu Liu said.

NSE Managing Director and CEO Chitra Ramkrishna said, "India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and this partnership will enable Taiwan investors to participate in the India growth story".
At the same time, IISL and TAIFEX said they would be working hand in hand for investor education and global market promotion to attract more potential traders to join the market.
Nifty 50 includes 50 companies and represents about 66 per cent of the free float market capitalisation of the companies listed on the NSE.
In terms of number of contracts traded, Nifty 50 options traded on the NSE is ranked globally at the top while Nifty 50 futures is placed on the seventh spot.
